The app is designed for use by travelers, pilots, dispatchers, aviation enthusiasts, and anyone interested in a detailed weather information. The app contains a database of nearly 7,000 airports and weather reporting sites located throughout the world. In just two finger taps, the user is provided current weather and forecast information for all major airports in 192 countries. WorldAviationWX uses real time aviation weather data available through public sources. Most importantly, the app decodes the weather information into a easy-to-read format, which can be used by anyone.
WorldAviationWX is quick and easy to use. Theres no need for the user to remember a 4-letter ICAO identifier for a location or look up a location. Airports are organized by country, thereby making it very easy to find the right location. Two taps is all it takes-- tap on the country, then tap on the airport!
WorldAviationWX decodes the current aviation weather (METAR) and forecast (TAF) into easy-to-understand terms. Forecasts are displayed with graphical timelines, making it very easy to visualize the forecast periods. One press of a button, and historical weather (for the past 24 hours) is displayed. This is useful for spotting trends.
The app has other important features. With one finger tap, the user is able to see the Google map view of the airport. Personal notes can also be stored for each airport.
